Sheepshead Courts

Hurricane Sandy had a direct and devastating impact on homes in Sheepshead Bay. Property damage was extensive, particularly in the ‘courts’ block typology where homes and walkways are several feet below street level. The Sheepshead Bay Courts Project is a vision for the future of these tight-knit blocks of homes. This project engaged the community members with plans to rebuild above the Design Flood Elevation and make their community more resilient in the face of future flooding while further enhance their sense of community.
